Are you interested in spending your next holiday at a beach resort in Waikiki? If so, the Halekulani Hotel Waikiki is worth your consideration. Its full name is- “Halekulani on the Beach at Waikiki”. It is a 5 star resort right on the beachfront, so you can expect to pay a little more for the privilege of staying here. However, what you get in return will make your stay here worthwhile. Why, even on arrival you are supplied a complimentary fruit platter or a bottle of champagne. Then there is complimentary internet connection, free local calls and a newspaper each day, together with a safe for your valuables. We all like our free stuff, don’t we?

ACCOMMODATION EXPECTATIONS at the Halekulani Hotel Waikiki

You can see from the photo to the right what you will be enjoying. This photo is just a partial shot of the resort looking at it from the beach. The Halekulani has multiple buildings on this 5 acre site that it sits on. Five buildings, in fact, ranging from 2 storys, right up to 17 storys high – Great views from up there. There are some 453 rooms to choose from in this resort. There are Guest rooms, Suites, Junior ocean suites, Luxury suites, Diamond head suites, Executive luxury suites, and the best and most luxurious suites in the resort, the Halekulani suite, the Royal suite and the Orchid suite. All the rooms are fully air conditioned, have wall to wall carpets, and some rooms have wheelchair/disabled access, and the balconies seem to be a little larger for your added comfort. As eating is always an important part of our vacations, The Halekulani supports 3 restaurants that cater for guests, from up market dining to casual eating. These, together with the 24 hour Room Service that’s available, add to the happy times you will experience on your holiday here. Also there are shops of different kinds within the complex, in case you want to spend more money, also 3 cocktail lounges, a spa and a fitness room for your enjoyment. In fact, when you look at the Halekulani Hotel Waikiki as seen here, it is hard to imagine that in the year 1907, on this same site there was only a beachfront home, with five bungalows surrounding it, and its grown from there to what it is today.

As well as relaxing in your comfortable room there is also the pool and beach areas.The pool and beach frontage as seen here from the vantage point of an upper floor in the resort, looks magnificent, doesn’t it. Can you imagine swimming in that pool or relaxing on one of the provided cabanas, or enjoying a leisurely walk along the beach whenever you wanted, as if it were yours? Sounds great,doesn’t it, and it is great.

RATINGS AND REVIEWS

PROS
Even though the Halekulani Hotel Waikiki is a 5 star, luxury resort, it’s always wise to hear what previous guests say about it. On the positive side of things, the vast majority of guests made real comments like – amazing, splendid, great location, without comparison, outstanding service, memorable, relaxing, wonderful, impeccable, top notch, we’ll be back, true 5 star, fabulous vacation, nicest hotel I ever stayed in –

CONS
However, there is also the other side of the coin to consider. A small percentage used the following words, phrases and comments. – Rooms are old, awful, vile, disgusting, horrible, bad food, bad service, bugs, never again, rip off, disappointing, 2nd rate, worst stay, not 5 star, overated, needs an update –

Now, even though this overview may tend to put you off, please be aware that these reviews are taken from some 866 real guest reviews (at the time of writing), and only 43 had some sort of “bad experience”, whereas the vast majority ( 823) were blown away by their experience here.

So, there you have it. The the Halekulani Hotel Waikiki seems to be one of the better Waikiki resort hotels in this area. Will you spend a little more, to create a holiday to remember? I’m sure a vacation spent here will give you great memories.
